Smt. Durgadevi Choudhary Vivekananda Vidyalalya, a non-profit educational institution affiliated to CBSE was founded in the year 1972.  The institution is managed by Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya Trust,  a non-profit and service minded organization.  The school has completed Thirty seven years and has carved a niche for imparting value-based education with scientific temper.

The institution has been consistently producing 100% results in X Standard Board Exams for several years with merit rankers and subject toppers.

Besides academic excellence, our students have earned innumerable laurels in co-curricular activities, Sports and Games.

Needle work, drawing, painting, handicrafts like making dolls, toys, wall hangings etc. are taught during the art classes.

The other activities include Karate, Keyboard, Yoga, Chess, Fine Arts (Vocal, instrumental).  Work experience, Paper making, Social service, Environmental projects, Sloka recitation etc...., form an integral part of the education.

Six academies have been established by the Jaigopal Garodia Foundation to unearth the potential of the students and to train them to compete at inter-school level.  These academies are functioning under the auspices of Jaigopal Garodia Foundation.

The Jaigopal Garodia Free Medical Centres have been established in the school campus and Teacher’s colony to reach out to the middle class and lower middle class people of the locality.  Medical checkup, medicine and consultations are offered free.  Doctors from among our school parents and alumni render valuable services every week. 

Besides this, ‘Rice Donation’ is another feature of the social service inculcated in children.  Fist-full of rice contributed by students on every Wednesday of each month is being offered to the Orphanages.

             Influenced by the thoughts of philosophers and understanding thee social needs and duty towards his fellow human beings, Mr. Jaigopal Garodia – the philanthropist, patriot, educationist, a man of visionary zeal and social reformer with a firm belief of serving the society and the country, decided to dedicate all his energy, all his powers and hard earned wealth for the sole purpose of serving through charity.  He firmly believes that the wealth of the rich is best spent on the poor and education is ht only means by which a country could progress.  Mr. Garodia who has not seen four walls of the school took it up as one of his major duties to educate the children and uplift the downtrodden.  To ensure that the selfless service continues even after his,  the “JAIGOPAL GARODIA FOUNDATION” came into existence during the year 1974.  The Foundation has carved a niche for itself by its various philanthropic, educational and social activities.  Infinite number of educational institutions, academies and charitable Centres have been functioning.  ‘Educate all to make India strong and glorious’ is the motto of the Foundation.  The Foundation has been in the forefront in contributing towards National Defense Fund, providing relief at the time of natural calamities, assisting war windows and so on.  Orphanages and mercy homes are also rendered help whenever occasion arises.
